The art supply collection drive from July 29-Aug 19 for the fall shipments to remote Indigenous schools has come to a successful close. We are now focussing on getting all the collected supplies sorted and prepared for shipping. Still want to donate? You’ll soon have another chance to donate supplies. Art for Aid collects art supplies up to the middle of May each year. We will soon be announcing the next collection dates.

I can’t thank you all enough for your generous donations towards putting quality art and crafting supplies into the hands of Indigenous youth in Canada. I’m always humbled by the warmth of your donation notes, your encouraging emails and Facebook messages, and of course, by your generosity.

The Rotary Clubs in the Belleville, Oakville and surrounding area have been collecting supplies for us as well, and they’ll soon be on their way to our office. It’s time to start boxing it all up! Watch for more information coming soon about some northern school projects we have in the works!

The Art for Aid Project operates as a program under I Love First Peoples. So what does this mean? I Love First Peoples (ILFP) is a wonderful registered charity that also works to improve learning for Indigenous students in Canada. As a program of ILFP, Art for Aid has the capacity to offer donors an official tax receipt for their donations through I Love First Peoples. All year round, donations can be sent to:
I Love First Peoples, with Art for Aid in the allocation line of the cheque or online donation. Their address is 274 Desjardins Street, Plaisance, QC J0V 1S0.

Operating as a program under ILFP’s network enables Art for Aid to have a larger reach and greater impact. Their support allows us to grow this program and develop deeper relationships with the schools we are supporting which will bring new projects and art supplies to even more students than ever before. Please check out https://www.ilovefirstpeoples.ca/
to learn more about what they do. We are so excited to be collaborating with ILFP, and we hope you are too.

Thank you. Miigwetch.

Colleen
